My life long dream was to own a world class show dog. I spent over a year searching for the right breeder.
When I contacted John & Susan at Kolenda Kennels we talked for quite awhile on several occassions,
I told them my dream was to enter a dog in the prestigious North American Sieger show. The Kolenda's
sold me a puppy that was 8 weeks old that they thought had show potential. So my son and I flew to the
United States from the Philippines when Ilac was 5 months old to see the dog I purchased compete in the
2006 North American Sieger Show. I could not believe my own eyes when Ilac made first place against some
of the worlds top breeders, Kennels and dogs.

2X VP1 Ilac vom Kolenda 2007 USA Sieger Show
I handled Ilac at the 2007 USA Sieger Show. We came in 1st place! I was so impressed with Ilac's movement
and structure, it reminded me of Yasko vom Farbenspiel. I thought about it all night, and decided to ask the Kolenda's
and Alex Tanwangco if I could take Ilac back to Germany with me, where I could continue to train and show Ilac, and then enter him in the
2007 World Sieger Show. So we all agreed and Ilac is now in Germany training.

I was a spectator at the 2006 USA Sieger show when I met John & Susan Kolenda. They were competing in the three day event with their
dog Ludo. I learned a lot about German Shepherds. There were dogs from all over the world competing, when Kolenda's Ludo made VA

Zeus vom Kolenda

Thank you for convincing me to attend and to compete in the North American Seiger Show in St. Loius. I am very glad I decided to show Zeus. Seeing all those Shepherds compete at the show has given me an even greater appreciation for German Shepherds and how truly special they are. I was impressed in how serious the owners, judges, trainers, and the dogs themselves take competing. As I was returning home from the show, I realized how lucky I am to have Zeus as my friend, companion, and member of my family.
Zeus is growing into a great looking, obedient, and smart dog. I constantly get compliments on what a great looking dog he is. He has become very well known and liked in my neighborhood. I have had several dog trainers I have met ask me if they could be Zeus' trainer. Zeus has a trainer and she has taken such a liking to him that she has become a good friend to me and Zeus. I am lucky that she has taken a personal interest in helping me train Zeus.
As you know, Zeus is the very first dog I've owned. I truly could not have asked for a better friend and companion.

2005 North American Sieger Show
At the2005 North American Sieger Show Fussen vom Kolenda & Falstaff vom Kolenda finished 3rd & 5th in the 4 to 6 month class. Fussen & Falstaff are litter mates. The German Judge said this was one of the few times he has ever seen litter mates finish in the top 5 at such a large sieger show! ~ He also said this was quite a breeding accomplishment!! ~

Emily and I wanted to thank you again for the beautiful dog that you sold to us. Elsa is a wonderful pup, and the envy of most of the other dog owners we meet, especially GSD owners. We recommend you highly to everyone we talk to, and drop your name whenever we can. We wish that everyone would breed their GSDs to such a high standard. We met a 9 month old GSD last night, that already has bone problems and is poorly angulated. His owner went on and on about how much he was costing her because of all the vet bills for various problems. It is definitely worth it to pay for a carefully selected set of genes up front, rather than pay for it later with a lesser dog.

Ella just celebrated her first Birthday. Her and Arkon are so beautiful and smart. They are ideal dogs for our family of five. The kids are in the perfect age to really love and care for them. (10, 8 and 6 years old). They respect the dogs and yet Ella and Arkon see them as their "leaders". Ella is extremely intelligent and alert. I just taught her on our outings in the woods to search and find various items(gloves etc...). She is an excellent tracker! And Arkon is a typical male, always alert and watchful. Thank you again for our German Shepherds.

I met Susan and her male German Shepherd Karly, at a Sieger show a couple of years ago. I was so taken with
Karly, that I knew I had to have one of his pups. Nine months ago, I got one of Karly's pups and named him Dave.
I have owned German Shepherds and worked with them for the past 25 years and Dave truly is a quality dog. Dave is very smart,

Harley vom Kolenda
Susan and John, we hope all is well. We want you to know how pleased we are to have the new addition to our family. "Harley" is his name and he is a joy already. Today is his one anniversary week with us and we could not be happier. It is very obvious that you guys are great breeders. Our Vet was very please with everything he saw. Also I wanted to thank you for your time and attention to both Stephanie and I with the many questions we had prior to receiving Harley:) Susan your presentation of Harley was great all the way down to the kennel, the food and the literature etc. that have already helped us to make a better home for him. We will highly recommend you and Kolenda Kennels. I have attached a photo of our twin daughters Claire and Carsen at the airport with Harley. The girls are very pleased:) We will stay in touch so you are able to see the growth of Harley ....

things are going well at Kolenda Kennels.
Amanda, Bavo and I are doing great and we
are enjoying the spring weather. I took Bavo
for his first run with rollerblades today.
He really seemed to like it. I have to make
him run in the grass though because his poor
paws get a little road rash and start bleeding
if he tries to run on the sidewalk or road.
We get complements on Bavo almost everyday
when we take him for a walk. We had one lady
actually make her husband turn the car around
so she could get out and see Bavo. Last week
a woman with two children followed me for
a block because she wanted to see him. Amanda
and I joke around saying that I can’t
take Bavo for a walk alone because he is such
a “chick” magnet.

Just
wanted to update you on how great Remi is
doing now that she's almost 7 months old.
I can't say enough how sweet and smart she
is. I am still taking her to obedience class
every Monday and her trainer, who is a K-9
handler, is very impressed with her disposition
and her work drive. She's a very fast learner.
I tell everyone how wonderful your dogs are
and what obvious dedication to the breed you
have to create such amazing german shepherds.

Here is our beautiful fourteen
month old Kaiser, and what a delight he is!
Kaiser is a very energetic boy with unbelievable
stamina. He excelled in puppy class and our
Vet has commented on his sound structure.
He is protective of us, but our pack went
camping to Yellowstone and he made up to the
people in our travels, there is a good balance.
We have had people stop and ask where we got
this gorgeous boy. His intelligence is incredible
and he is so tuned into us that he knows what
we are going to say before the words are out
of our mouths. We would be happy to talk to
those seeking a reference.
